![]() To make a title on a piece of background: You will need a good image editing program ... one that lets you select any shape and crop it out of a photo. A 'Magic Wand' tool is particularly useful. Start a blank canvas in your image editor. Load the piece of background, and copy it; then paste it several times onto the blank canvas until it's covered. Now add text. Add a photo too if you want. You'll need to load the photo and paint all around it with a solid colour not in the photo. Then use the 'Magic Wand' tool to select it, and then INVERT the selection. Copy this; this will take just the head. Paste it onto your canvas, add a shadow, and you're done! We've put a border around the title above so you can see that the background matches the page background ... and will disappear, as it did on the top of this page. ![]() Images with photos should be saved as jpg images (GIF images are too big in file size). This occasionally causes problems when the background colour of your title image is slightly off the background colour of the main page, and you can see a noticeable 'box'. If this happens, just save the title as a GIF, and don't worry about the loading time ... or redo it smaller. |
