The 1997-98 Yearbook

The 1997-98 Worsley School Yearbook was one of the first school yearbooks to be published on the web in North America. We are very proud of that accomplishment, and of eventually having our school site chosen by Canada's SchoolNet as the best school website in English Canada.
The quality of the photographs in that first Yearbook was not great; we had to scan many of them, and space limitations forced us to keep the images small and of low quality. When they were transferred to CD the quality was degraded further, and following a hard-drive crash, necessitating the copying of these files several times, the image quality of the pictures in our '97-98 Yearbook master copy became so poor that we decided to abandon it and not sell more of the CD's. Many of the pictures were so dark that the subjects were totally indistinguishable. (We've learned our lesson ... we now keep original copies of all photos, and back up everything to a second hard drive!)
Recently we went back to our files to try to rescue some of the pictures. Considerable digital enhancement was required, but we were able to restore some of the photographs to near-original quality. No single section of the Yearbook is complete, so we decided to just present what we were able to retore on these pages. The pictures are in no particular order.
