Using A Vernier Caliper Click the show checkbox and drag the sliding piece to practice. Read the whole number value opposite the sliding 0.
Read the first decimal place by locating the first dash on the sliding piece to exactly line up with a dash on the ruler above.
Test your measurement skill by unchecking the 'Show' box, and dragging the slider to any spot. Type in the value you think it's measuring. When you check the 'Show' box again, you'll see if you were right.
