A nebula is a collection of dust and gases that block out the light from stars in the distance. They are often places where new stars form. This dusty material contains many elements, most of which were created in stars billions of years before, and then spewed out when those stars exploded. All the elements above helium in the periodic table were formed this way, including the elements that make up the earth and your body!
