Integers are any positive or negative whole numbers.

In order to work with these numbers, you must understand the following rules:

Two negatives beside one another are changed to a positive sign, so you really add:


A negative and positive beside each other are changed to a negative sign, so you subtract:


An even number of negatives in the problem result in a positive answer when multiplying or dividing:
