Our students corresponded directly with children at Our Lady of the Assumption School, Enoggera, which is located in the north western suburbs of the city of Brisbane. The school is about 8km from the Central Business District of Brisbane, which is is approximately 27 degrees S. latitude, 153 degrees E. longitude. It's about 1000 km north of Sydney. Brisbane is the capital city of the State of Queensland, Australia. Brisbane hosted the Commonwealth Games in 1982 and Expo 88. The city of Brisbane provides an entry point for the Great Barrier Reef and other parts of Australia.


Our Lady of the Assumption School has an enrolment of approximately three hundred and thirty-five students. The age range extends from five years to thirteen years (Pre-school to Year 7). The students come from many backgrounds.
The staff consists of eleven full time teachers, with a non-teaching Principal. There are additional part-time specialist teachers working in the areas of Resources Management, Music, Japanese and Learning Support. A School Secretary, part-time School Officers (to help with 'special needs' children), and groundperson complete the staff at the school.


The curriculum is enhanced by a well-resourced, automated Library (Resource Centre), Instrumental Music and School Orchestra program, and Swimming and Inter-school Sporting program. Computers are located in every classroom. An Internet connection is available in the Library. The school is supported by a strong Parents and Friends Association. The school provides After School and Vacation Care.
